| In all the forums for gaming, particularly console gaming, there is obviously going to Gaming Reviews posted.. I want well thought out reviews, it doesnt have to be a masterpiece but if you are going to post a Review on a game.. make it longer than a few lines and explain its good points and its bad points in more detail that just "its good cos it looks nice". Basically i want them to be constructed better than: - Quote :
- Game Review: Halo 3
i liked dis game cos it has alot of people playing it and is fun.
that is a bad review.. this is how i expect Reviews to be set out: - Quote :
- Game Review: Soul Calibur IV
The Soul Calibur Series has always been different to the other many fighting games in its visual effects.. Instead of just two people fighting you are entertained with pleasing colourful trails behind your weapons and upon impact big colourful explosions of light.
The graphics in this new installment to the Soul Calibur series are truly amazing The characters models are stunning, the details on each and every area of the body are done to perfection and look just amazing. Their hair flows.. the females chest bounces slightly (but not all over the place).. you can see every movement in great and realistic detail. You can spot every move a character makes with these stunning graphics and amazingly colourful weapon trails/explosions.
I for one love colourful explosions of light in alot of games, all the soul calibur games have pleased me with this effect, so have some other games such as Geometry Wars. These explosions and trails give it a very unique quality, not seen in other fighting games. An exmaple would be Virtua Fighter 5.. which is based on being realistic. Its fun to play but it is just watching two people fighting each other, while on soul calibur a fight between two fast characters is like watchig a Laser Light Show or a Fireworks Display.
Basically the game looks great and its easy to say the game developers have done very well on the graphics side. The stages themselves look stunning, with part man part lizard audiences etc.. As well as the stunning visual appeal of this game it pays very well too. Soul Calibur has always been a favourite to people who spam every button they see.. ad this is no exception. You can spam the buttons and destroy your opponent easily, and with the explosions, trailing arcs and special effect its actually makes button bashing look incredibly cool.
Obviously not Button Bashing is the way to get the true power, learning to simple combinations and mastering a character will make you no match for anyone you meet over xbox live.
In this new Soul Calibur game there are 5 new characters.. Yoda, Amy, Algol and the Apprentice. Amy in the storyline is Rapheals friend (my favourite character from the PS2). oda and the Apprentice are like the eddie from Tekken.. incredibly cheap and overpowered, runing the perfect balance of all the oher characters... Yoda is small and difficult to hit, and he cannot be thrown. Why the Apprentice uses "the Force" to kick the living daisies out of out of everyone, before they even know whats hit them. The character creation is brilliant.. so many options. All you eed to do is base your characters fighting style on one of the main characters.. afterwards spruce yourself up with armour and weapons.
This game is truly stunning.. and a must-buy definetly.

It doesnt have to be as in-depth or as fully layed out... but please... nothing at all like the first one. | |
